Olistic The Label x Arizona Muse

Octobre 10, 2020
The Event
Olistic the Label and Arizona Muse the supermodel, and environmental activist, met on September 29 at the Ritz hotel's summer lounge by the initiative of dresscode, which was celebrating its fifteenth anniversary. The mythical place was up to the occasion: the press presentation for the winter collection designed by Arizona Muse in collaboration with Camille Jaillant, creator of Olistic the Label.
The enduring collection of the fifteen essentials of an eco-friendly women's wardrobe was presented in the privacy of private appointments. An enchanting luxury setting opened on the garden of the palace to reveal a line handcrafted in Portugal in natural organic fabrics certified by demanding labels.
The Collection
The collection affirms Olistic and Arizona's commitment to authentic eco-responsible fashion characterized by a return to craftsmanship. Originally from Serra da Estrela, Burel wool is produced and spun manually using ancestral Portuguese know-how before bringing Olistic x Arizona's sumptuous capes and tunics to life.
For more lightness, GOTS-labelled peace silk harvested with respect for the animal’s life and lyocell, a wood fiber from PEFC-certified forests, PEFCare transformed into beautiful blouses, skirts, or maxi dresses. The collection frees up movement and will appeal to all those looking for stylish, comfortable clothes: tailoring pants, cropped shirts, or modern crop tops. Peace silk satin evening gowns, Burel wool bustier, and fluid lyocell combinations complete this versatile timeless offering by draping the body with sensuality. Ideal for the holiday season as well as for a day's outfit with a certain elegance, the Olistic x Arizona collaboration celebrates a timeless minimalism tinged with mystery.
This exclusive collection was presented with virtual identity cards: an innovative technology developed by the French company Arianee. Thanks to a QR code, the digital identity of the garment allows to trace its origins in a transparent way, from the raw materials selected to the suppliers who contributed to its manufacture. As a guarantee of the transparency of the value chain, this blockchain technology also certifies the authenticity and ownership of the collection. Thanks to the partnership between Olistic the Label and Arianee, each piece ordered from the brand's website is accompanied by its virtual certificate. This approach allows us to move forward on the path of transparency by setting new ethical standards. The limited-edition Olistic x Arizona capsule collection will be available from October 15 on the Olistic the Label website www.olisticthelabel.com
3 Minutes With Olistic The Label
Can You Tell Us About Olistic The Label?
Olistic the label is a 100% sustainable brand, committed to 100% natural materials. We are currently working with Arizona muse who is an activist and famous model. We are happy to be able to present this collection today at the Ritz with Dresscode.
Did You Start Your Brand By Being 100% Sustainable?
Yes, since the beginning of the brand we are sustainable, so we use fabrics like silk of peace which is cruelty-free silk, we do not kill the animal. The butterfly is scalded alive in the cocoon, and we are going to create a small hole in the cocoon that will allow the butterfly to go out and continue it's life. It is called a vegan silk or silk of peace, it's an Indian tradition. This silk comes from India. Otherwise, we also have artisanal wool that comes from Portugal’s mountains. We also have wood fiber that comes from wood chips, pines, and eucalyptus trees that are used precisely to create a fiber used to make clothes. We are really on 100% organic and biodegradable fabrics in time, with timeless materials that can be carried forward in the long term.
How Would You Describe Olistic?
I would say committed, because it is really our fight, to be able to promote a fashion that is more respectful of people and the environment. I would also say minimalist because we like pieces that reveal materials and details and finally, I would say sensual because there is always a small opening, transparent materials to be able to highlight the woman's body.
Why Did You Choose Blue And White As Your Colors?
Because with Arizona we were really inspired by the universe, galaxies the constellations. All the pieces have constellations names such as "Virgo" (a blue silk dress) which means virgin in Latin and at the same time to make a small echo of Arizona which her sign. So, we only have coins with constellations to show the vastness of the Earth and to emphasize the fact that we humans are only passing through the Earth. This is the inspiration for this collection.
What Was The Biggest Challenge In Launching Your Brand Knowing It Was Fair?
It was not that difficult because we were fair from the start. The hardest part is doing it when you have already developed your brand and you are trying to change things afterward. As is it the DNA of the brand from the beginning, we were very demanding in the fabrics we used but also in the design. It was done naturally we really did everything to make it ethical in Portugal. We know all the people who designed these pieces, we visit the workshop very frequently, there is a real relationship and I think it's not complicated, we just have to bother to do it and I think that's the difference between committed and sustainable brands and others that are less so.
Where Do You See Your Brand In 5 Years?
That is a hard question. (Laughs) I would like it to be the benchmark in France for a sustainable luxury brand. Because there are very few brands that are engaged and offer luxury
